Justdiggit is a non-profit organization that uses nature-based solutions to regreen degraded land in Sub-Saharan Africa. Together with local communities, it implements initiatives such as rainwater harvesting. By digging water holes, called “bunds” or earth smiles as Justdiggit likes to call them, rainwater is captured and allowed to seep into the ground giving vegetation a chance to grow back. This process helps to restore ecosystems, improve biodiversity, improve livelihoods, and combat climate change. Brilliant and simple right?
